Little moments. The ones that have you laughing until you cry or smiling, thinking to yourself how fun and amazing life can be. Often taken for granted, those little moments in life. The moment I look over to our love seat to see Nola watching my Dad leave and Adam sitting next to her. The moment Nola is perfectly calm and content for Adam to rub her belly. Those sweet little moments that make me fall in love with her all over again and erase the crazy, chaotic puppy moments she can bring to us sometimes.
The five minutes last night as we Skyped with my brother-in-law and his wife, and their tiny, precious little baby. Oh, I love her already. Is it possible to love a little person so much that you’ve never met? I really do. Sweet little Lucy. Moments just hanging out with Adam, my best friend, and watching our favorite shows. Those ordinary moments can sometimes feel extraordinary to me. Just reminders of how wonderful life is if you take a closer look.
Sure, when we write blog posts about our lives and simple, everyday things they can seem overdramatized. How wonderful can a trip to get ice cream really be? However, for me, it’s not overdramatized. Truly. I love those moments. What if we looked at these ordinary moments with more care and light? What if we made everyday little, ordinary, lovely things into a big deal? I started doing that when I started blogging and goodness, it turned my world around for the better. Those everyday things keep me light, keep me happy, they make me fall in love with my husband a little more every single day, keep me optimistic and help me to appreciate my life so much more. They take the stress of the day and melt it until it disappears, even for just a moment.
So remember to stop, take a deep breath and look around you. What little moments are happening right now that should be looked at and enjoyed more carefully? For me, in this moment, it’s good music and a quiet place to work and I’m loving it!

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this attitude. AMEN to THIS!

Thank you sweet friend! Yes, yes to sweet, little moments!
What a beautiful post! I agree that if we all looked at life’s little moments a little differently than everyone might be a lot happier and more at peace :)
Thank you so much, Amber! Yes. I agree! I focus too much on the little stressful things and not enough on the wonderful things. Working on it!
This is great! I need to stop and appreciate my life more often. Sometimes it is a lot easier to say than do though, for me at least. Love the pictures!
Thank you! Definitely easier said than done sometimes. But, take time to take pictures of moments you’re loving then, when you feel stressed, look back on them later. It may help!
Great suggestion! Thanks!

I love this post! I’m sitting here at my kitchen table after work perusing some blogs (duh) and my husband is relaxing on the couch enthralled by ESPN. Our dog has finally stopped pacing around, and at first glance it would look like we’re doing our own things, completely independent of one another – but you know what? Just knowing he’s here and I’m here and we’re both happy and relaxed after a day of working is a pretty great “little” moment.
Thank you! Oh gosh, I love that! Yes, that’s how it is for us sometimes. Adam will be on his phone or watching something, I can be relaxing and checking twitter and Nola is peacefully sleeping and it just feels like all is well!
I love this! I agree. Life would be just a little better if we loved and appreciated the small things a little more :) xoxo

yes, yes, and yes. I love this post girl. If we picked apart moments throughout our day oh the things we would be grateful for.:)
Thanks, Heather! Yes, let’s do that. Little adventures with the ones you love could be as simple as a trip to the grocery store. I have moments like that with Adam, when he’s sweet enough to shop with me. I just enjoy time with him no matter what we’re doing!
Nola is HUGE!
Isn’t she??
Love this post. This is SO true. Little moments are all around us and if we are not careful we live day to day, with blinders on, and miss out on SO much!
